Android vs iOS

This is probably one of the biggest rivalries in the consumer product world. Users from Android hate iOS and users from iOS hate Android. In 2019, there are very few complete differences between the two operating systems. However, one operating system might execute or perform certain features better than the other.

Here is a simple overview of the features performed better on the two operating systems.

Android

  • Customisation (use the phone the way you want to)
  • Multiple options to choose based on your personal usage
  • Multitasking (you can do way more on your phone)
  • Faster to innovate (first to fast charging, reverse wireless charging, barely any notches in 2019, in-screen fingerprint scanner, 90Hz display)
  • Android is way more affordable. You get to choose from the cheapest devices all the way to a $1000 flagship device.
  • Better cloud backup than iOS
  • Widgets and easy use of home screen (settings, navigation, etc. are all a swipe away).
  • Notification management is so much better

iOS

  • Perfect optimisation for iPhone
  • Ecosystem and interconnectivity with other Apple devices
  • Faster software updates
  • Slightly better security (in 2019)
  • More useful applications (even though Android has more apps in the play store, Apple has more useful applications)
  • Apps usually arrive faster on iOS devices
  • Easier to move from one iPhone to the next (if you move from Samsung to Samsung, or Google to Google, it doesn’t matter. However, if you move from Samsung to Google for instance, it will not be as seamless).
